2.15 understand the factors that affect the rate of movement of substances into and out of cells, to include the effects of surface area to volume ratio, temperature and concentration gradient

Factors affecting the rate of Diffusion:
1.      Temperature: the higher the temperature, the greater the rate (more kinetic energy)
2.      Concentration: the higher the concentration gradient the faster the rate (until equilibrium is reached)

3.      Surface Area to Volume Ratio: the greater the surface area to volume ratio the faster the diffusion occurs.
