Differences between animal and plant cells:

Plant:

·         Large vacuole

·         Cell wall

·         Chloroplasts

·         Fixed shape

·         Stores glucose as starch

Animal:

·         Little or no vacuole

·         No cell wall

·         No fixed shape

·         Stores glucose as glycogen

Functions:

Nucleus: information center of the cell. Also contains the genetic information of the cell.

Cytoplasm: where all the chemical reactions occur.

Cell Membrane: separates cell contents from the environment.

Cell Wall: protects the cell and maintains/ determines the shape of the cell.

Chloroplast: where photosynthesis takes place and where it uses the energy from the sun to produce glucose.

Vacuole: contains food or water
